Writing full time. Second novel, Gardener, is conceived.

I’m back and I have great news. Spending time at home with my family provided an enormous boost to my writing. That is, in addition to a huge bubble of happiness that’s still floating somewhere in my chest. I have to constantly check that my feet are still touching the ground!

Being away from the day job meant I could write full time and, for the first time since I started, I actually felt like a writer. I had a massive influx of ideas from the day one. Not being able to fit them all in into the Snowflake, I started recording them into my software program. It didn’t take long for it to inform me that I had enough plot milestones to start another book.
I’ve chosen ‘Gardener’ as the title for my second novel. Just as the Snowflake, the Gardener will have a single human flaw entwined into the back-story. And just as the Snowflake, there will be a legend to give a deeper meaning to this modern tale of computer crime. The flaw I’ve chosen for the second book is fear. Fear that either makes you stronger, or slowly erodes your soul until there’s nothing left.

  1. Congratulations, it is indeed great news! I’ve got a question, though, is the Gardener going to be a continuation of the Snowflake or a different story altogether?

  2. I’m glad to hear that you’re planning to write a second book. I assume this means that you’ll continue with this blog and give us some more sneaky peeks of your novels. However, I want to warn you. It’s a brave thing to name your second book the Gardener, considering that you’ve already explained the meaning of The Gardener in the legend of your first book. Are you not afraid that it might turn out too philosophical to be interesting to general audience?

  3. Congratulations from me too. It seems everyone’s got a question, so I’ll add a few of my own. What audience are you targeting your second book at? Will you continue writing in the same style as before? How much of what you write is done by your software program?

  4. I thought you’d write your book, get it published, get success and recognition and leave us with bitter sweet memories of your blog ;-) Hey, I’m glad to hear there’ll be more! Oh, and I also have a question. Can your program take jokes? I’ve got tonnes of great jokes and I was wondering what would happen if you entered them all into your program. Will you get a comedy?!

  5. You talk about writing a second book. Have you finished your first one? If not, should you even be considering a second one before completing the first?

  6. It’s so wonderful when new ideas are born! I wish I could come up with enough ideas for a whole book. If you enjoy writing and it comes so natural to you, than it’s something you should do. I wish you all the best and I’ll be waiting for your books to get published so I can read them on my way to work.
